A question that I get asked a lot is, “Do chiropractors only know about the spine?”
This is a great question.
When you think about chiropractors, you think about the spine initially, but we don’t only know about the spine because if we only knew about the spine, it wouldn’t make sense that we wouldn’t be able to look at the other parts of the body as well.
Here’s what I mean by that;
While the spine is very important, it houses your spinal cord, and that’s the most important thing because when we talk about nerve issues we can have numbness, tingling, burning, motor weakness, sensory loss.
If you have a problem where you have pain radiating down into your arm, we need to know, is it coming from the spine?
Chiropractors work on the whole body, different extremities, and moving parts.
It doesn’t mean that we can treat everything, and I pride myself on making sure we have a great wide network of other doctors I work with, whether it be orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, neurosurgeons, physiatrists, pain management doctors.
We work with all these different doctors because I want to make sure that if you do come in and I can’t help you, I can get you in touch with the right professional that can help with your specific issue.
It all starts by being able to know about these different issues is to not only be able to diagnose it, but to be able to treat it or send you to the person who’s best to treat that.
